Maja Groff – The Hague, The Netherlands

I am currently Senior Legal Officer at Hague Conference on Private International Law. Had previously worked as a second year Corporate Finance Associate, concentrating on Alternative Energy Project Finance at Sidley Austin LLP.

I enjoy a McGill University Bachelor in Common Law and Bachelor in Civil Law achieved with “great distinction”, and I completed advanced training program, sponsored by the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University and The Jordan Institute of Diplomacy, for academics, international lawyers, military personnel and NGO staff, with a focus on the Middle East.

I am interested in CSR, Equal opportunities for women & men, Values Based Leadership, Sustainable Development, Social Economic Development, Ethical Finance, Business Ethics, Sustainability and Intercultural sensitivities.

Vafa Payman – London, UK

I am a partner with Roshanian Payman International, Solicitors. I specialized in contractual, joint venture and advisory work and my assignments have included preparing the legal documentation for a proposed multi-modal regional transportation hub in Uzbekistan, negotiating the transfer of mining technology from a South African mining company to a leading CIS gold mining entity, advising an American/Russian group in connection with the formation of a joint venture with an Australian mining company to develop a gold project in Central Asia, and acting in an international commercial arbitration in London.

My prior legal career included serving as a legal officer in the Australian Attorney General’s Department and as a corporate lawyer with Alcoa of Australia (as it was then known), one of the world’s leading alumina and aluminium producers. At Alcoa, I was involved with the Portland Aluminium Smelter Joint Venture, one of Australia’s largest industrial projects, serving as secretary of the management committee of the joint venture and company secretary of the Alcoa subsidiary that operated the smelter.

I hold an LLB degree (1983) and a B.Economics (Hons) degree (1979) from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and a Graduate Diploma in International Law (1986) from the Australian National University in Canberra.

I am interested in Spirit in Business, Networking, Organizational Behaviour, Responsible Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics.


Peter Maguire – Godmanchester, UK

I’m a graphic designer and have been since 1970. I’ve worked in various design studios and advertising agencies, notably as Creative Director of Newstech Communications and Yellowhammer Business. I also spent some time at the Cambridge University Press as a designer prior to it closing its design department down.

I co-own a business called “DESI9NERS” with my wife, Naghmeh. We are both Directors. I’m 57, married with two children and living in Godmanchester and I have interests as a musician and as a photographer.

Most importantly, I’m a Baha’i and am interested in Social Innovations, Sustainable Development, Spirit in Business, PR & Communication, Web Site Development, Publications, Social Economic Development, Business Ethics, Fair Trade and Intercultural sensitivities.


Ellen Chingeye – Saint Julien en Genevois, France / Zimbabwe

I am a Zimbabwean studying in France, I am planning to study tourism, with a specific interest in sustainable tourism to then be able to return to Zimbabwe and apply there innovative principles to grow a sustainable tourism industry.

My other areas of interest are Equal opportunities for women & men, Values Based Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Networking, Web Site Development, Youth & Young Professionals, Intercultural sensitivities.

My contribution to ebbf would be to participate in social media discussions and events.


Mieko Bond – Bournemouth, UK

I am Kings Bench Chambers-Barrister tenant. I am Experienced in all aspects of criminal work and have a growing practice encompassing the Crown, Magistrate and Youth Courts. I have both defence and prosecution experience.

I completed a pupillage at 6 Kings Bench Chambers, London (Mr Amlot) before going to Kings Bench Chambers. I hold a Ph.d in Law from the University of Manchester.

I am actively involved in creating equal opportunities for women & men.
