Wendi Momen was welcomed at Buckingham Palace for an investiture ceremony during which she was recognized for her services to Equality, to the Empowerment of Women, and to the Community in Bedfordshire. For those services, she received an MBE Award (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, a grade within the British order of chivalry).
Some of these contributions took form while she was member of the Soroptimist International Bedford (a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls) for 25 years, the treasurer of the Bedford Council of Faiths for 11 years, for over 8 years was a Board Member of the UN Women National Committee UK, has been the Vice-Chair of the Community Foundation of Bedfordshire and Luton for the past 9 years, and for the last 6 years has been the treasurer for Advance (a new international non governmental organisation that aims to promote the advancement of women around the world).
