CHINA – ebbf member Jenna Nicholas, CEO and co-founder of Phoenix Global Impact and Executive Assistant to the founding Chair Wayne Silby of the Calvert Fund, spent the last few months in China. She used some of her time co-teaching a module at Tsinghua University – Economics and Management School on value creation through socially responsible investing, business ethics and corporate social responsibility – exploring a broad conceptual framework on social impact.
As part of the learning process, the students reflected and wrote essays on the impact of certain concepts on their own lives: triple bottom line, integrating ethical decisions, social impact, and trust. Student teams integrated these concepts into different business plans for ethical education and sustainable fishing, among others.
