China/Belgium – Jörg Wuttke presenting at EU Parliament Hearing

Jorg Wuttke will make a presentation on the 22 January 2015 to the INTA Members in his function of President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC).

INTA is the European Parliament Committee on International Trade. Since the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty, the European Parliament has a decisive role to play in the definition of the Union’s trade policy and acts as its democratic conscience. This is of particular importance since trade legislation and international trade agreements can only be implemented with the agreement of the European Parliament.

The EUCCC was founded in 2000 by 51 member companies that shared a goal of establishing a common voice for the various business sectors of the European Union and European businesses operating in China. It is a members-driven, non-profit, fee-based organisation representing European business in China. The European Chamber now has more than 1,800members in 7 chapters operating in 10 cities: Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanjing, South China (Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai), Shanghai, Shenyang and Tianjin. The Chamber is recognised by the European Commission and the Chinese Authorities as the official voice of European business in China.

The session will have live stream and can be seen at http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/en/inta/home.html at 9am Brussels time and 4pm Beijing time.
