Mara Khorram

Mara has been working in the fields of education and health care for the past 30 years. She lived and worked in the Pacific Islands of American Samoa, and then the Northern Mariana Islands for 25 years where she founded & co-founded three separate businesses, including a medical clinic and a school. In 2014 she moved with her husband and four children to the Czech Republic where she worked closely teaching and guiding young people at a Baha’i inspired school, coordinating an international youth program and serving on the schools board of trustees. She currently resides in Portugal, blending her love of diverse peoples and cultures with sunshine! Her current passion is working with like-minded educational leaders to influence the next generation of schools; schools where the strength of character is nurtured, life skills are valued and youth choose diversity and cooperation over competition.

As a mentor, Mara looks forward to learning from as much as guiding young people as they embark on discovering their unique path of service to humanity. A path that builds on their passions and interests, academic and character strengths and a desire to find meaning and balance through work, community and family. She hopes to be of service by walking this path of discovery, encouraging and reflecting together and opening her network of professional connections.
