What we do | Vision, Core Values | Where we are | Where it all began | Who we are
The European Bahá'í Business Forum (EBBF) is a nongovernmental organization that attracts a community of people passionate about bringing ethical values, personal virtues and moral leadership into their workplaces.
Its membership is diverse and crosses generations, borders, sectors and beliefs.
They are women and men spread in over sixty countries.
"EBBF offers a number of ways that entrepreneurs, managers, CEOs can and are creating more meaningful work, thereby enhancing the dignity of work and the prosperity of humankind"
George Starcher - Former Senior Partner McKinsey, Co-founder and President of EBBF
“EBBF gives you the courage to live ethical values in your work environment by showing you very practical examples of people who live an ethical life within their organizations...”
”... every time I attend the annual conference of the EBBF I come out totally recharged, totally recharged”
It began in 1990 and has continued to grow rapidly in its over fifteen years of activity (history).
EBBF operates on three levels:
1. Encouraging individuals to make a values-based difference in their own work environment
- For individuals who feel that their work environment is not aligned with their values and that the environment and not them, has to change.
- Offering ways in which you can apply your values in your work environment. For people who want to create a work environment where their values are not seen as a hindrance, rather an opportunity to create meaningful success.
- Providing opportunities for networking with a group that is passionate about implementing rather than talking about values-based practices in business.
- Communications Centre, where "meaningful job" offers, ways to make a difference, events, worthwhile publications and ideas are exchanged.
- INSPIRE E-magazine, published bi-monthly offering real stories to inspire change.
- Knowledge Centres, areas where the research of EBBF offers knowledge in specific areas of focus.
- Articles and publications developed by its members are published and distributed.
- Events, both at international and local level, together with an annual conference offer the best opportunity to meet and interact with the people and ideas of EBBF.
2. Promoting a new paradigm of business
- Presenting scenarios and working models of the enterprise of the future (high level events, presentations, MBA courses, partnerships with leading organizations, publications, knowledge centres, media coverage)
- Actively collaborating with other networks and organizations having similar goals and values.
- Presenting EBBF values and ideas in over 250 events every year relating to EBBF's core values.
- Collaborating with certain United Nations agencies such as UNESCO and the International Labour Office.
- Sharing the cumulative "knowledge" of the EBBF network through its knowledge centres, through its interactive Communications Centre and the INSPIRE e-magazine.
3. Educating the leaders of tomorrow, letting them view the enterprise of the future
- Partnering with AIESEC across Europe, offering joint events and speakers on topics related to values based leadership.
- Counseling young professionals on career choices, offering a mentorship program.
- Holding a number of presentations and courses in business schools with MBA students.
- Running a number of courses on values based leadership, business for a new world order, promoting innovative concepts of Sustainable Development, Social Entrepreneurship, Social Economic Development and Ethical business at Universities.
EBBF is governed by a Governing Board of seven members elected each year in the General Assembly meeting held at the same time as the annual conference.
Every EBBF member is both eligible to vote for and be voted onto the Governing Board.
The Governing Board meets several times during the year, elects the officers, and develops and approves plans and major projects and events.

- You can view here the profiles of the elected EBBF Board members for 2007/2008.
EBBF is registered as a non-profit association in Paris, France under the Law of 1901.
