01 - 1987 at the Landegg Institute
1987 at the Landegg Institute there was a seminar on Economics. It was here, on 29 June 1987, that George Starcher and Eric (Ezzat) Zahrai were inspired to create an association in which members could share their experiences and concerns about applying their moral principles in their professional lives. The phrases "Toward a New Paradigm of Management" and "Consultation and Group Decision Making" were the titles of presentations by George Starcher and Eric (Ezzat) Zahrai and both later became EBBF publications.
02 - 1990 Meeting in Chamonix
1990 Meeting in Chamonix, France. About 30 Bahá'ís from both sides of the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean gathered in the shadows of Mont Blanc to explorer their values and their application in business. It was at that moment that the decision was taken to create and association, to name it the European Bahá'í Business Forum, and to meet again a year later.
03 - 1992 Core Values
One of the first Actions of the Governing Board was to articulate seven core values which have serverd well to guide and focus the activities of EBBF. First published as "Emerging Values for a Global Economy", this publication has been translated into a number of European languages and even into Zulu on the occasion of the World Summit on Sustainable Development.
