From "a new paradigm of work" to "the value of values" - ebbf partners with the Global Ethics Forum following its own international event.
The European Baha'i Business Forum (ebbf) is one of the partners of the Global Ethics Forum that will take place in Geneva continuing its promotion of a new paradigm of work, one where values bring about meaningful and successful organizations.
Geneva, Switzerland - May 10th, 2011 - ebbf (www.ebbf.org) the european baha'i business forum, an international NGO representing businesspeople across 70 countries announces its partnership with the Global Ethics Forum supporting its three day conference built around the concept of highlighting "the value of values".
ebbf is a unique, spiritually inspired global network enabling individuals to build a new civilization through their daily work. It sees its mission as contributing to a prosperous, sustainable and just civilization by promoting and applying ethical values, personal virtues and moral leadership in business and civil society.
The partnership with the Global Ethics Forum comes after its own international event that addressed the "new paradigm of work" that is emerging. New demands and priorities from the people working inside and around companies are driving the emergence of a new more values and purpose driven leadership. A leadership that will be able to successfully navigate the increasingly interconnected and volatile times in which we are operating, guided by a new compass.
"ebbf actively seeks to join forces with like-minded organizations to promote and implement core values that make better business and help create a better world," explains ebbf chair Mahmud Samandari. "This is why we are glad to be associated with The Global Ethics Forum conference which discusses and promotes values in business."
ebbf believes it is vital to achieve broad consensus on the operating principles that are to shape a new model for our society. Such principles will engender an attitude, a will, a dynamic that will enable us to find practical measures that will take us closer to creating that model.

Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) as well as faith-based organisations and businesses worldwide are often conscious of the importance of their values-based work, but this is usually seen as a non-measurable intangible asset. Until now, values have been largely overlooked in conventional project monitoring and evaluation activities, which tend to focus on concrete outputs and outcomes rather than the ‘human results’ of the work.

European Baha’i Business Forum, ebbf Marks its 20 Year Anniversary by Rolling Out a New Brand Identity and Community Platform Providing Capacity Building, Practical Tools and Access to a Global Community of Like-minded Individuals.
Nijmegen, The Netherlands – September 28, 2010 – ebbf (www.ebbf.org) the European Bahá’í Business Forum, a spiritually inspired, international NGO representing people across more than 60 countries launches mindful people, meaningful work a community platform to inspire and empower people everywhere – whatever their work may be.
ebbf members from all over the world gathered for the Annual Conference in The Netherlands. While they paused to celebrate the pioneering insights into business ethics George Starcher and the other fifteen founding members had in Chamonix, France back in the spring of 1990, they wasted no time in rolling out the next big idea.
“In 1990 the terms" responsible business" and "sustainability" were very new. During these past two decades ebbf along with other NGO’s around the globe have focused their efforts on encouraging business leaders to develop the skills and tools with which to lead their organisations in more responsible and sustainable directions," said co-founder and President of the ebbf, George Starcher. Today, ebbf is celebrating its 20th anniversary convinced that global awareness about the critical importance of responsible business is now much greater.”
At the heart of mindful people, meaningful work lies the fact that almost all of us perform work in some capacity each day and by promoting and applying ethical values, personal virtues and moral leadership, we can contribute to a prosperous, sustainable and just civilisation.
“You don’t have to be the CEO to create positive change at work. We all have the potential, regardless of our role, to apply moral leadership.” explained ebbf Director General, Daniel Truran. “For some of us this may mean setting up a new business or NGO which goes beyond just making money, and for others it may mean simple daily gestures positively affecting the environment in our workplaces.”
