Warm Welcome to New Members

Knock, knock on the door

As additions to our growing family, please warm the house for our latest members.

EBBF members span across generations

Katina Jones - Adelaide, Australia
Since 1991 when she developed and trained South Australia's most successful sales and marketing team for a leading international company, Katina recognised the need for a development and training centre focusing on the skills required for a sustainable future in a rapidly changing world, thus founding EQUALS International Pty Ltd (www.equals.net.au).

Having established productive and profitable businesses throughout Australia, Katina is now focusing on furthering the international expansion of EQUALS as she continues to lead her dynamic and professional team into new and innovative consulting areas.

Among other appointments, Katina has served on Australia's Executive Committee for UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women) for three years. Over the past 8 years, Katina has represented Australia at the United Nations in New York on several occasions in the area of Human Rights, and was appointed as a delegate to the Commission for the Status of Women in 2004 and 2006 at the UN, NY. She currently serves as Director to the Australian Baha'i Community's Office for Equality and she chairs the South Australian Baha'i Council.

Katina was the Rotary Club of Adelaide Light's first female member and, in 2004, she was inducted as Rotary International's first female District Governor in South Australia. She is currently enjoying the challenge of raising the profile of Rotary, developing partnerships with Government and NGO's.

A burning issue for her, within the Forum is - you guessed right - equality of women and men.

Maurizio Guadagnino - Naples, Italy
Maurizio is currently Local Committee President AIESEC at the University Parthenope di Napoli where he studies Economics. He is interested in "cultivating my Christian spirituality, looking after my body, practicing sport," and among his principles are love and "work in a spirit of service towards humanity."

As a burning issue, Maurizio will like "to better understand my role in society and in what field I will be working."

Ali Javid - Seattle, USA
Ali is an undergraduate student at the University of Washington, studying Business Administration, with an interest in Finance. He recently served at the Baha'i World Centre for a year and half.

As a burning issue he would like "finding out how Baha'is in the field of finance are applying their values."

Ian Ralston - North Sydney, Australia
Ian works at the company Outside the Nine Dots (www.nine-dots.org), which assists organisations to become more productive through values alignment.

He is interested in values-based leadership; as a contribution to EBBF he'd like to "make Australian Organisations aware of Values Based Leadership."

Sahba Sobhani - New York, USA
Project Officer at the UNDP's Bureau for Resources and Strategic Partnerships.

A warm welcome to Katina, Maurizio, Ali, Ian and Sahba. We look forward to your company at cluster and branch meetings, conferences, discussions, online participation, retreats, and any opportunity to meet and share with you.
